Mekong alumni Tipakson and Pairoh (Thailand, 2009) received a small grant from the Mekong Alumni Program to organize children's day events around the Mekong environment in communities that will be affected should plans to build the Pak Chom Dam on the mainstream of the Mekong go ahead. Amazon Alumni are indigenous and mestizo leaders from the Andean-Amazon countries. They work to defend our communities from human rights and environmental abuses that are occurring now and to hold those that have destroyed our environment responsible for their actions.

Burma

Burma Alumni are human rights and enviromental activists from diverse ethnic backgrounds. They form part of the vibrant and well-informed civil society in Burma and communities along the Thai-Burma border working to better the lives of our country and people.

Mekong

Mekong Alumni are a cohesive group of activists from each of the six Mekong countries. They voice individual and collective concerns about the impacts of development, the role of development banks, and related human rights, transparency and participation issues, within the Greater Mekong Sub region.
